Be careful With your ’surprising’ date as you could end up with a teetottler at a wine-tasting, or maybe a lactose-intolerant date at a cheese fest.
Always be honest, at least try to be it, don’t play games. Even avoid stretching the truth, because the first time you got caught, let’s hope it will not destroy your credibility.
Be on time. No doubt about this but if your date is late, be pleasant, and listen to their reason as it might be legitimate.
Be confident, just tell yourself that you’re not nervous, and make it excited. When you are confident people will have more trust in you and your abilities. Even, if you don’t consider yourself to be a confident person, act as if you are.
Ask your date a powerfull questions, use words such as what, where and how, and give your date the opportunity to give a more comprehensive answer.
